Last week we ventured up to Washington to visit with friends and supporters. It was a great time of connection for all (at least for us :)). Since we have been in the Northwest we’ve been experiencing crazy weather, and our time in Washington was no different. As soon as we got there the sky’s let loose of all their moisture and it poured for days. The road we travelled on to get there became flooded over, preventing traffic to get back to Portland. Thankfully, the river drained a bit and I-5 opened a day before we drove back down. While our whole trip was really really good, I wanted to share one (of many) highlights. We were able to see Patty and Shannon, sisters/twins that we had not seen in 4 years, since they left Germany after graduating. They were in our youth group for their senior year and provided great leadership, spunk and love. What a joy it was for us to see them still following Jesus wholeheartedly while attending the University of Washington. I was reminded of John’s words to the church in 3 John 4: “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
